Tiles

Tiles

Tile section was done on the 15 March 2017.  We were very nervous about it even after two preliminary visits.

Chris, the lady helped us at Groove Tile made the process quite easy.  In order to decide on the tiles, we have to decided on the color theme of the house.  The whole process took about three hours.

The tiles we choose are all quite simple and neutral in colour.  Chris also has done a fantastic job to balance out the cost. The final selection are:
From top to bottom, left to right.
Carpet, wall tile in bathrooms, outdoor tile(small sample), main floor tile, ensuit floor tile.

Main floor tile - Brancato blanco lappato.  This is a semi-gloss tile with a slight simmer on it.  This tile has a price tag of $75 per square meter and our allowance was only $32.  Chris was able to give us this tile for $48.6 per square meter. Since we have gone over our budget with the main floor tile, Chris was very mindful when helping us select other tiles to bring the cost down.  Thank you Chris!

On top of the main floor tile are the: Cabinet color, Caesarstone benchtop - Nougart and Overhead cupboard colour to obtain the whole look of the kitchen.

The same floor tile will carry through to downstairs power room and laundry.  A detailed look.

Ensuit:
Floor - Piatra Grey
Side wall on the bath side  - Piatra Grey
Chris' idea to use dark color to make the white freestanding bath a feature of the ensuite
Both dark or light cabinet will match good
Caesarstone bench top - Piatra Grey.  This is in a Super nature range and we have to upgrade to get this bench top.

This free standing bath is call Hilton from Decina.  It costs around $1,800.

Main bathroom:

Large floor tiles: 400*800.  Spanish tile on special.
Feature wall tile

Went back to Groove Tiles today and picked up the tile below. This tile on the top of the floor tile is the same colour as the wall tile but just has wave in it.  This will be used in downstairs power room as feature.  We are using texture instead of colour.
